Team Making
Introduction
Of course I'm not gonna tell you the perfect team, neither I know if such thing exists, I'm rather giving you the bases to build one yourself. I'm not a team making/battling/training/Pokémon expert and it's not my intention to sound like a know-it-all. Everything here is strictly my opinion which, of course, you are not obliged to follow. Enjoy =DThe Team
Now first thing to do is getting the six pokémon that will integrate your team. You'll need balance between offense and defense and will also need to split those between special and physical. The first pokémon to be sent out, usualy referred to as lead or starter, can make a huge difference in the outcome of your battles since getting an advantage right from the beggining means your opponent will have to spend the rest of the match trying to recover from it. It has to be quick and capable of dishing some hard hits so I'll pick Weavile for the sake of this guide. With Jolly nature and maximized Speed it'll get a thick total of 383, backing up the 508 Attack if you maximize Attack EVs and put a Choice Band on it. It's incredibly easy to use and effective since it learns Pursuit, which will trap the ever so common Gengar and Alakazam either they try to escape or not. Brick Break, Ice Shard and Night Slash are good completions of the mooveset since they can counter Ground, which is super effective against Weavile, and Steel and Dragon, which take reduced damage from Night Slash and Brick Break, with a good STAB addition. All set, this will be your Physical Sweeper.Secondly, let's think of a Special Sweeper... I can think of one that has great resistances and a good balance of Speed and Special Attack, with a powerful movepool to back it up: Lucario. This guy reaches 493 Special Attack, Choice Specced, and a considerable 306 Speed with Timid nature and maximized EVs on both Speed and Sp Attack. Aura Sphere is a must, Dark Pulse and Dragon Pulse are powerful options to consider, and Vaccum Wave can work as your only chance against a Scarfed foe.
To finalize offensive, all we need is a Mixed Sweeper: strong on both attacking stats and fast: Infernape occurs to me and seems to fit the team. With a Naive nature and Life Orb it reaches 307 Special Attack with maximized EVs and has a great movepool to cover what's been left behind; Close Combat and Flamethrower are its best moves and we can raise stats even higher with a Nasty Plot in the set. To end, Grass Knot is the only thing that saves it from Bulky Waters and Bulky Grounds.
Heading to the defensive part, you'll need a Physical Wall. I decided to pick a BorderLine fellow this time, Tangrowth. Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, Knock Off and Power Whip make it completely own the opponent if pulled off successfully. Make it fall asleep, drain HP from it, take off its item and sweep away. 404 maxed HP and a potential 383 Defense, but you should leave some EVs for the fragile Sp. Defense.
To cover the Special side of your defense, Thick Fat Snorlax is the best I can think of to fit in this team. With a gargantuan 522 HP and an awesome potential 319 Sp. Defense, ResTalker set works wonders. Rest, Sleep Talk, Body Slam for STAB and Crunch to take on Ghosts.
With everything covered you can fill this last slot with all sorts of things: a Hazer/PHazer, Stealth Rocker/Spiker, Rapid Spinner, Baton Passer... the list can go on. I decided to bring a mixed backup to defense with a Calm Mind Slowbro. Sure its normal role is the one of Physical Walling but with Calm Mind on its set it can both Raise the Special Attack of Ice Beam and Surf, while raising its mediocre Sp. Defense, allowing it to mix Wall. Slack Off has to be there too, since it's the best recovering move it learns. The best EV spread I calculated for this set is 252 HP / 96 Def / 160 SpA.
Concluding
We've achieved a pretty decent team with each pokémon covering the other's weak points and with all completing each other and even a spare, balanced pokémon to help you when everything else failed. To keep this a bit more organized, since I hate disorganization xD I'll make you a table summarizing our conclusions:| Pokémon | Moveset | Holding | Nature |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weavile | Pursuit, Night Slash, Ice Shard and Brick Break | Choice Band | Jolly |
| Lucario | Vacuum Wave, Aura Sphere, Dark Pulse and Draogn Pulse | Choice Specs | Timid |
| Infernape | Close Combat, Flamethrower, Grass Knot and Nasty Plot | Life Orb | Naive |
| Tangrowth | Leech Seed, Knock Off, Sleep Powder and Power Whip | Leftovers | Impish |
| Snorlax | Rest, Sleep Talk, Body Slam and Crunch | Leftovers | Bold |
| Slowbro | Slack Off, Calm Mind, Surf and Ice beam | Leftovers | Bold |
Hope it helped =D
